Intermedial Elements and Synergies

Intermedial Elements and Synergies explores the development of technological advancements and sound-aesthetic considerations in relation to the fundamental requirements of creating and perceiving music, specifically the interplay between composers, performers, audiences, technologies. New technologies do not only influence the requirements of notation and interpretation but also reshape the perception of music. In an era characterised by media saturation, - even in situations beyond the realm of the arts -, audiences might increasingly expect dynamic and multi-sensory experiences. Intermedial elements within a compositional framework can lead to synergistic relationships, resulting in heightened aesthetic complexity and emotional impact. Such works can contribute to critically questioning or even offering temporary explanations for certain realities of life and art. By examining the interplay between technologies, compositional approaches, and musical output and perception, this thesis aims to gain insights into the evolution of music. It will primarily focus on the interaction between visual arts and music composition. The convergence of visual and auditory elements creates experiences that engage multiple senses simultaneously.

n-EDO Systeme und ihre Anwendung in Kompositionen

Verlag: Wien

Erscheinungsjahr: 2022

Umfang: 52, 11 Seiten, Notenbeispiele
